Taster Walk 1: Lickey Hills

Saturday, September 28, 2019

No sign-up required for taster events!

Join the Wayfarers for the day on a taster walk to Lickey Hills!  Please purchase an off peak return train ticket from University to Barnt Green and meet us at the Mermaid Statue outside The Guild at 10 am. Bring lunch, sensible shoes and a waterproof coat. Please buy your train ticket before the day as you may not have a chance at the meeting point.

The Lickey Hills Country Park is just 10 miles south-west of Birmingham and covers 524 acres.  If the weather is clear, you get wonderful views of the city and the university (well, Old Joe) from Beacon Hill.

This is a taster walk, so all are welcome to come along! Come and say hello, meet new people and get some fresh air after a hectic freshers week. See you there!

What to bring:

  • Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes (that you don't mind getting muddy)
  • Lightweight trousers (definitely not jeans!)
  • Jumper and/or other layers
  • Waterproof coat and trousers
  • Packed lunch and water
  • Cash for emergencies
  •  A rucksack to carry it all in
