Taster Walk 2: Sutton Park

Date:

Sunday, September 29, 2019

Description

No sign-up required for taster events!

Join the Wayfarers for the day on a taster walk to Sutton Park! Please purchase an off-peak return train ticket from University to Sutton Coldfield and meet us at the mermaid statue outside The Guild at 10 am. Bring lunch, sensible shoes and a waterproof coat. Please buy your train ticket before the day as you may not have a chance at the meeting point.

Sutton Park is one of the largest (at 2400 acres) urban parks in Europe and it is located in Sutton Coldfield, 6 miles north of Birmingham city centre. It has been designated as a National Nature reserve, a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, so there should be something for everyone.

This is a taster walk, so all are welcome to come along! Come and say hello, meet new people and get some fresh air after a hectic freshers week.

What to bring:

  • Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes (that you don't mind getting muddy)
  • Lightweight trousers
  • Jumper and/or other layers
  • Waterproof coat and trousers
  • Packed lunch and water
  • Cash for emergencies
  • Rucksack to carry it all in
