Taster Walk: Sutton Park

Date:

Saturday, January 19, 2019

Description

No sign-up required for taster events!

Join the Wayfarers for the day on a taster walk to Sutton Park! Bring lunch, sensible shoes and a waterproof coat. Please buy your train ticket before the day as you may not have a chance at the meeting point.

We meet at 9.45 at the Faraday Statue by the University railway station

Sutton Park is one of the largest (at 2400 acres) urban parks in Europe and it is located in Sutton Coldfield, 6 miles north of Birmingham city centre. It has been designated as a National Nature reserve, a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, so there should be something for everyone.

This is a taster walk, so all are welcome to come along! Come and say hello, meet new people and get some fresh air after the first week of the term.

What to bring:

  • Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes (that you don't mind getting muddy)
  • Lightweight trousers
  • Jumper and/or other layers
  • Waterproof coat and trousers
  • Packed lunch and water
  • Cash for emergencies
  • Rucksack to carry it all in
