The society recently inherited some photographs taken by a member in the 1950s. These span the academic year 1955-56 and can be matched up to club records and student publications, presenting an excellent impression of the nature of the club at the time.
A 1953 piece in Guild News tells us that "the Wayfarers vacation activities have recently included walking in the English Lakes, Snowdonia and Southern Ireland, cycling in East Anglia (all Youth Hostel trips), yachting on the Norfolk Broads, and camping in Devon. Rambles and cycle runs are regularly held on Sundays throughout the session through the Midland countryside. Other items (such as pot-holing) are being included in future programmes."
