Dartmoor

Date:

Friday, March 3, 2017 to Sunday, March 5, 2017

Description

To purchase a ticket for this trip, please come along to one of our designated sign-up sessions in the Guild of Students. (See our newsletter)

For the first time in "quite a while", the Wayfarers are going to the south-west!

Dartmoor is famous for its vast moorland and misty landscapes. It provided inspiration for the spooky Sherlock Holmes story The Hounds of the Baskervilles. Whilst we may not encounter any hounds, it's sure to be an interesting experience. For whilst the south is lapse in its mountains, the appeal lies in the famous tors, the river valleys, and forests.

Hope to see you there.

What to bring:

  • Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes (that you don't mind getting muddy)
  • Lightweight trousers (definitely not jeans!)
  • Jumper and/or other layers
  • Waterproof coat and trousers
  • Packed lunch and water for both days of walking
  • Cash for emergencies
  • Rucksack to carry it all in
  • Extra clothes for both days of walking
  • Sleeping bag and roll mat
  • Wash kit, etc.
