The Gower (Camping)

Friday, June 9, 2017 to Sunday, June 11, 2017

To purchase a ticket for this trip, please come along to one of our designated sign-up sessions in the Guild of Students. (See our newsletter)

The Gower Peninsular was the first part of the UK to be given the official title of “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”, and it truly is. Our final weekend trip of the academic year takes us again to Wales, this time for coastal, beach filled walks! Complete with one of the world’s best beaches, low lying hills, and an island shaped like a sea-monster, this trip is always a great one to finish the year with.

We will be camping at Kennexstone Campsite which is inland slightly. We plan to have a BBQ on Saturday night (weather permitting of course!) which has in the past taken place on a beach itself!

Please remember to bring all the essentials:

  • Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes (that you don't mind getting muddy)
  • Lightweight trousers (definitely not jeans!)
  • Jumper and/or other layers
  • Waterproof coat and trousers
  • Packed lunch and water for both days of walking
  • Cash for emergencies
  • Rucksack to carry it all in
  • Extra clothes for both days of walking
  • Sleeping bag and roll mat
  • Wash kit, etc.
