Stiperstones (and Walk Leader Training)

Our termly Walk Leader Training will take place this time at the Stiperstones! Don't worry if you don't want to be a Walk Leader, we will also run a normal walk.

 The Stiperstones is a distinctive quartzite ridge in Shropshire which was formed 480 million years ago!!! Ancient legend has that it was formed when two enormous dragons fighting in the skies over Shropshire. The battle ended with the dragons in an embrace of death and falling to the ground, where they subsequently become the ridges of the Stiperstones and the Long Mynd.

 The various tors of the Stiperstones will make for an interesting day walk. We will taking a minibus, so if you want to come, make sure to come along to a sign-up. Hopefully, we'll see you there.

What to bring:

  • Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes (that you don't mind getting muddy)
  • Lightweight trousers (definitely not jeans!)
  • Jumper and/or other layers
  • Waterproof coat and trousers
  • Packed lunch and water
  • Cash for emergencies
  • A rucksack to carry it all in
